Hi! My name is Michelle. I'm a digital paint and compositing artist based out of Vancouver, born and raised in the beautiful Fraser Valley of British Columbia, Canada. From an early age, I was fascinated with how the seemingly impossible worlds in my favourite movies were created, and spent many hours watching Behind the Scenes documentaries from Lord of the Rings and Star Wars on repeat. It was only a matter of time until I realized that not only could I learn how to do this myself, but I might even be able to make a career out of it.
I graduated Vancouver Film School in October 2016, where I focused on building core skills in Nuke. My career thus far has taken me across the country and has included high-end live action film and television, as well as animated feature work. I love having the opportunity to face new challenges, uncover new techniques, and problem solve with whatever type of shots I'm tasked with. Currently, I am contracted by Industrial Light & Magic as a Digital Paint Artist.
Before attending VFS, I attended the University of the Fraser Valley from 2010 - 2014, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. I have a plethora of other interests that keep me busy in my free time, including martial arts, traditional painting and drawing, skiing, hiking, and playing the saxophone and guitar.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by; feel free to email me for any inquiries!
